YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! My mom is an acupuncturist and I swear by it. You need to give it a bit of time. One treatment does not solve all of your problems, but if you follow your acupuncturist's instructions and go maybe five or six times, then have confidence. It is not a miracle cure, but I think that it has made a huge difference in a lot of lives. You have to have trust, but i DEFINATELY RECOMMEND it!!!!!!!!!!!

Acupuncture is particularly effective for musculoskeletal related pain conditions. If this is what your dad has on his back, I strongly recommend trying out acupuncture. Do make sure the acupuncturist is appropriately licensed and uses only disposable needles.

If you read this persons question just moments before yours....

... you would conclude that it does not.
I think that if it works, it must do so through some sort of placebo effect. I could be wrong... but I think that if you believe it works, then it will work. You lack faith in the process.... so perhaps it won't work for you.
Now common sense tells me that it won't work. It doesn't make sense that a person could hit the right nerve to deaded it, etc. I place it in the same category as Chiropractic and Hypnosis. It's Gobbledegook magic.

Speaking from experience, yep, sure does.
The question is, to what degree? I think that depends on the type of pain you are experiencing, pain in more than one area, your pain tolerance level, and your openness to alternative medicine

I think it depends on the person who is doing it. Because if they hit the wrong nerve with that needle it could make the pain worse. So make sure that you dad does his research.

Some people swear by it, some call it bunk. It is six of one, and a half dozen of the other. If it works, then it's great, and if it doesn't, then it is NO good.
