My cousin is about to become a 'hoe' and I've tried to talk her out of it. She is a good person and the only reason she wants to do it is for the money. She already has a full time job and things are ok for her and I don't understand why she would even consider this. It's illigal and just too risky but I think she made up her mind.
What is society's opinion about prostitutes?

They provide quality services that most ordinary women just do not want to talk about. ;-)

As a society we look down upon prostitution. But as individuals, there are many men who enjoy prostitutes. Girls/guys who go into this kind of lifestyle or who do this as a side job don't always tell you the truth of the empty pain they feel inside. Many do drugs to cover the pain. The money seems great for a short time but the greater consquences lies in the fact that prostitution is demoralizing, demeaning, and a slap in the face of morality. Also what about AIDS, abuse of every form and the destructive path this lifestyle can lead. Prostitution used to be illegal but more and more it is becoming legal because people simply don't care about morality.

Prostitution is a high Risk Occupation,Societies View in a Lot
Of European Countries is to De-Criminalise it and Allow
Women to Set up Legalized Brothels[Look at Amsterdam].
Obviously in a lot of Countries it is still a Criminal Offence to Solicit
For Sex.
It also Fulfils an outlet for Certain parts of Society to relieve
their needs, but obviously as you say this comes with risks.

They're generally looked down on or made into a joke. She risks being attacked, raped, infected, arrest, and/or being drawn into drugs. Hell, she could get killed out there.
Sadly, if she's made up her mind and you know she wont change it, the best thing for you to do would be to be there when she gets home, know where she's going to be, etc. Make her keep a cell phone on her so that if she ever goes missing, you can report it to the cops and they can at least find out where she was.
If you really wanna stop her... call the cops on her. I dont know what, if anything, they can do, but its an option, right?

It saddens me to think about men and women being prostitutes. They are in danger in many ways. Prostitution is not glamorous or rewarding. It is glamorized on some television and cable shows, but for the most part it is dangerous and demeaning work.

Honorable people that provide a wanted service for a price.

Pimps are another matter, they are leeches that prey on the poor worker kind of like democrat politicians, union leaders etc.

sad... slap her silly. she's gonna get AIDs. Full blown aids. listen to a song called "Raining Blood" it's by Slayer. It has nothing to do with what you're talking about, but its a cool song. Head bang to it, might give some thought.

Prostitution should be legalized. It must be a hard way to make a living.

From what you've said, I have no idea why she wants to get into that kind of profession. I won't judge her decision, and there isn't much you can do about it. Good Luck! :)
