I saw Joni years ago in September 1968 when she was in London at the Royal Festival Hall, appearing with Al Stewart and Fairport Convention in "An Evening of Contemporary Song."
I fell in love with her and Both Sides Now but 3 years later someone lent me the LP BLUE - a classic of all time abd hard to choose 3 songs cos they all need to be heard together
However, here goes with today's choice s tomorrow it may change

Oh so many good ones. "Coyote" definitely rocks, with Jaco Pastorius on bass, but her version with The Band on "The Last Waltz" farewell concert is pretty strong. I like "Free Man in Paris" and "Come in From the Cold." Her songs are so perfect for playing in the car on a long drive at night or on a cloudy autumn day. I have an amazing bootleg of a concert she did with James Taylor in 1970 at Royal Albert Hall. It has an amazing version of "California" where she plays dulcimer and he plays guitar.

Finally, a great question and a super tough one:
California
Coyote
Woodstock
(I love her backup vocals with Neil Young's Helpless from the Last Waltz also)
