Isn't it Dawahli at the moment? the asian community like to shoot off huge amounts of fireworks during that festival, bless em - i love fireworks.
Oh and £20 for a firework is nothing, they go as far as £150 a pop for the better ones, last year was a low spend year on fireworks as later that month i went to New Zealand for 3 1/2 weeks so i had to keep it under a grand to keep the fun police happy.
This year will be very different :)
yes i know im a big kid

There might be fireworks for some sort of celebration... But be glad your country is allowed to celebrate. You could be in an oppressed country where such things are not allowed. Think of it that way I guess... Honestly I get annoyed when young guys car stereos rattle the pictures on my wall!

Is there some sort of holiday over there? It's only Oct. 1st here. No cause for fireworks over in the states.
Why did it cost you 20 pounds?

I Know how you feel. I think it's very anti-social. People can fire of these things until the early hours then because I'm kept awake all night i rush to work cos i laid in a bit and get caught doing 40mph in a 30 zone!

Some sort of celebration somewhere?
I heard a lot of fireworks going off last night, for no reason apparent to myself.

I'm in the US and there was something strange going on last night. Don't know what it was, and there was no thunderstorm either.
Maybe some holiday I don't know about.
