Yes I believe u can but I there is the possiblity that she can renew it. It kinda depends on how bad the situation is. If u do go back dont tell her and STAY AWAY from her and go on with your life. She can take u to court if it is serious enough and keep u out by court order. take care and stay out of trouble.

In MD, the petitioner can ask for a 6 month extension for just cause. There is a hearing and a judge decides whether or not to extend the order for an additional 6 months. After the 6 months passes, then the protection order expires. Even though the order expires, do not rush to return home - some states have obeying a protection order as grounds for divorce (if you 2 were marries). MD is not one of those states.

Usually before the order of protection expires there is a hearing. If she shows up for the hearing and wants the order to be renewed it can be renewed, but she must make a case to the judge that the order needs to be renewed. You should be notified of when this date in court will be held. If its not renewed, you might be able to go back. But, if you try and force your way in, my guess is that she will again call the police and get a temporary restraining order until the follow up in court for a 1 year order of protection.
If this relationship involves children or shared properties etc, it might be in your best interest to retain a personal attorney with a specialty in family law.
Also, it might not be the best idea to try and force your way back home when your one year order expires.
Good luck!

protection orders are a joke.
Seems anyone can get them, under false pretenses.. especially if you live in upper Michigan, and are female. The laws up there literally kiss the females backside, and really mess over the men.. and the man's extended family - ie: his parents, siblings.. etc. Even if they can prove that the female is wrong, and making up madeup charges.. Sad thing here is, we're in WI.. and all this ---- was done in MI.. How I wish this 'ex' would get what she deserves.. rather than sitting there like some glorified angelic victim.
Oh! And when she needed someone to help, she'd call and ask 'how much do you love me..' and want his help moving something to her home.. Did she forget she put a PPO out on him?!

If the decide that made the order unearths out,she runs the possibility of no longer being taken heavily the subsequent time she desires an order. If she is conversing along with her abuser and questioning of taking him decrease back, have faith me,there will be a next time. Abusers by no skill replace.

All she has to do is get another order if she can convince the court that you are still a danger to her. Usually it's not that hard to do.
