It depends of what your belief system is and what you consider evidence. If you are one of the religious fanatics that believe in the literal interpretation of a creation myth, then there is no need to read beyond this point.

The overwhelming consensus among scientists is that the oldest fossil record of life is about 3.5 billion years old. Stromatolites are fossilized beds of cyanobacteria and can be found in ancient rocks in Australia and Greenland.

Ok, wasn't going to answer this question, but since PsychoTony said "humans" were first according to from genesis 1:1, I felt compelled to reply. According to Genesis 1, humans were the last form of life created. Genesis 1 pretty much follows the same order that evolutionists believe that life evolved. Starting with plants, then fish and birds, then mammals and then humans. A good site to look at this from a Biblical perspective with videos is http://www.answersingenesis.org/video/ondemand/answersWithKen.asp

Anyhow, to answer your question specifically, we do not have any real evidence that can be proven or tested in a scientific way. Both creationism and evolutionism is a belief system about the past that we cannot observe, test, or prove. So to be able to have definitive "evidence" about that past is a very hard thing to do. We can only make assumptions based on our belief system.

Evidence of life usually involves waste gases. Way back when, the first oceanic plant forms started 'polluting' the atmosphere with their waste gas, in this case oxygen. This resulted in the mass extinction of most life forms then but then gave rise to life forms that could metabolize this corrosive gas. Nowadays life on earth is evident by the dramatic rise in CO2 levels in the atmosphere.
