The Canadian government cannot and should not apologize for something that happened 50 yrs. ago. If there is room for an apology have to come from the Japanese for their atrocities they commit against the human race, Americans, Chinese, Russians, Philippines, etc. You better read about the history before you start talking about something that you don't know nothing about. Thank you.

Try the public library. They are great for helping you find information.
What many people may not realize is that the Japanese who were interred were Canadian citizens, some of several generations. It was a purely racist policy. I had a friend who was one of them. She was a baby at the time and she couldn't even speak Japanese.
These innocent Canadians have nothing to apologize about. They were not responsible for what the Japanese did.

Japanese were incarcerated during the war. I believe the Government has apologized. I'm still waiting for Japan to apologize for their treatment of the Canadians taken prisoner when Hong Kong and Singapore fell. Also for the other allied POWs. Lets not forget "The rape of Nanking" while we are at it. I would not have brought the subject up, but how dare you?
