Seriously it is a mind game, if you act like a baby and cry and scream then you will fell all the pain. If you relax and do your breathing correctly I think it is okay, not good, but you can control how your brain perceives the pain being distributed in your body. Birth is such a happy thing don't be negative about the experience.

Child birth is NOT controlled by your mind, maybe by medication.A relaxed mind can help you better cope with the pain but it will not take it away.I have 6 kids so i will tell childbirth is HELL,but as soon as you have your baby you will forget about the pain completely.Contractions are very painful i would say if you have ever had bad bad gas pains in your stomach so bad that you couldn't move for a second it is very much like that, but worse. The most painful part really is the contractions. The pushing feels quite relieving,it is alot of pressure and burning but you push through that and once you get that baby out it will all be worth it.You will bw fine,we are women we were built for this.Support is something that will help you alot.I found that having a doula there wit me to help me stay strong and focus worked much better then having my husband there. You can stay much more focused if you have someone that you really don't know because you won't get frustrated with them as easy.

I know of no good comparison. Pain is very personal. Childbirth is very personal. It may be one thing to one person and something else to another. Would you compare it to having your flesh removed? Would you compare it to various forms of torture? What about radiation poisoning?
Some women, note: the word some was used, would like you to believe that it is the worst pain endurable. Some want to prove their strength and womanhood through childbirth. The fact is that it is not the worst that a human can endure. It is quickly forgotten when the child is placed in the mother's arms. Don't know why, but that is what is reported by many. Last, it is a normal and natural experience. That is true regardless of pain. It is natural and normal. Don't worry about it. Women have survived this process, as have their children, for as long as anyone can remember.

I've had an abcessed tooth, and that was worse than childbirth. Seriously.

Childbirth, though, feels like poo-pains times thirty. You know, you cramp when you have to poop really bad. Childbirth is much worse, but I'd take it over a toothache ANY DAY.

I just want you to know, though, it's not as bad as it sounds when you are doing it. It hurts, yes, but your body's focused on the task at hand, and when it's all over, you're going to forget all about it when you look into your precious baby's little face.

If it were that bad, you wouldn't have a ton of women doing it two, three, and sometimes four times.

I would compare it to your worst menstrual cramps while feeling like you have to poop all at the same time. There is a lot of pressure in that area. But seriously the second the baby is out the pain is gone unless you are unlucky like me and have problems delivering the placenta and then you will have the worst pain in your life. So if all goes well it is really not that bad.

umm let me see... it is painful yet magical, it is abit scary but thrilling to know the end product of this, it is intense but completely bonding, it is hard work, but worth it. If it hurts beyond your ability then request pain relief, if you are focused and feel you can handle all of it then you will feel every bit of life coming to a stand still as you give birth... wonderment, and amazement come to mind. Focus on what you are there to do and not on the pain if you can. Have a good coach and don't be afraid to ask for pain killers.

There is nothing in this world that really compares to child birth. That is why only women do it. Don't be afraid though, it is all worth it when the baby is in your arms at the end.

Hurts like nothing you've ever felt before and feels absolutely fantastic immediately after. The more you can relax and do the breathing the better, it does help.

There is no pain to compare it to. It's nothing like I've ever experienced before.
