You already have all the facts you need to make a logical conclusion about legalization, you just need to know the right questions, and be willing to accept the answers.
Question one is, "Is it working?" I think that if there's enough drug use to keep the DEA busy after forty years, it's fairly obvious that it's not, and if that weren't enough, we all know that people convicted of drug offenses often get sent to prisons where they can obtain drugs.
Question two is, "Does the war on drugs cost money?" I think you know the answer to that one.
Question three is, "Does the war on drugs do any harm?" I think it's pretty obvious that if drugs were legal they'd be cheaper, and if you recognize that if even one addict steals to buy drugs, they have to steal more to pay the higher prices, so the obvious answer is "yes", even without the occassional search warrant served on the wrong house with unfortunate consequences to the law abiding occupants.
It's mind boggling that we have people protesting that we should stop overseas wars because we lost before we even started, but I think it's pretty obvious that this War on (some) Drugs is a total failure.

You're right all the way. I mean look at all the money they make off of alcohol being legal. 1st they tax the producers by number of containers, then the purchasers....who also have to buy a liquor license, then they sell it to the consumer (from bar or store) where it's taxed yet again. Then they catch you driving home over the legal limit and make a whole bunch more money with fines and probation etc. It's still legal though. They should just do the same thing with marijuana. They don't because much of the money (they make off of busting people even though it's way less than they could make if it was legal) would leave the judicial areas of government and go to the legislative. Judges don't want that to happen.

Do you think that there might be a lot of people making money on illegal drugs, and that it would be against their best interest if drugs were legal?
I´m not saying that´s why drugs are still illegal, but it could be one of the reasons
I don´t use drugs and I hate brazilians who use drugs. Drug users give money to drug dealers, who are responsible for crimes and murders.

Honda, actually in Amsterdam its not legal, its just tolerated.
And Cocaine was made illegal to keep it away from the black man. They conjured up these stories of black men raping white women while high on coke.

go to lp.org
the libertarian party
they want to legalize responsibly without all the communist and socialist bull$hit from the green party and other left exremist organizations. also, it is the most popular third party and draws from both liberals and conservatives who want to limit the government involvement in our everyday lives and find out what freedom really is.
