I just read an ad in Time Magazine ( Sept. 2006 ) It was talking about an enemy that has no address,no money trail, and no quams about killing women and children. The enymy is mother nature or huracane Kartrina. I wonder why men were not listed as victims. Do men not have any worth. Perhaps that is why we have so many wars ,,because our young men are expendable. Perhaps if we sent our young women to war in the same ration that we send young men , then we would rethink the glory of dieing in battle how do you feel about this . The ad ,,,,PROTECTING AMERICA,,,

Yes, of course men, and their lives, have worth! Who could doubt it?

I think women and children are more frequently listed as victims because they are considered (in popular culture) as being weaker, and more vulnerable, somehow, and as vehicles of new life.

Women cannot produce children without men!

Women NEED men to help them rear the children that they have borne, and simply, to be happy and fulfilled!

I do not think that anyone intends to say that men's lives have less value. I, for one, would never say so!

It is simply that men have always been considered physically stronger, and to be warriors, while women have been expected to stay at home and nurture the children, while the men went off and fought.

Referring to the article that you quote "an enemy"..."no qualms about killing women and children" for by society's moral standards it is still not acceptable to openly in any type of warfare to kill women and children and not to imply that men can be killed for they have less worth. Its factual that men still are a majority in politics and it is men that begin and engage in warfare--were it not for older men beginning wars no younger men would die in them. Were it to occur that young women were sent into battle(begun still by older men)as readily and in the same numbers as now young men I doubt that anything would change except young women dying in war.The reasons of war would still be there for wars are not begun because there is glory in the war but because of desiring anothers land, anothers resources and to dominate the other and ofcourse the others fight to prevent it and so on.

I do not associate that article with the assumption that men have no worth. Who wrote the article, what are their views of men and women, Did their article have limited spacing, Was it a misprint? One person's perception or possible mistake does not shape the worlds opinion. Men are not indispensable, they are needed for procreation for one. There would be no human life, male or female if new life could not be born.

I agree that the lives of men are often minimized...wrongfully so. Having a wonderful dad, brothers, nephews and friends, I love and treasure the wonderful men in my life and would be devastated if any harm came to them.

Hello?! The whole gotdamn world revolves around men! Men run everything! What on earth are you talking about? You trip me out. First you (men) don't want women to have anything, rights, etc. We will never be president...men don't take us seriously and all were suppose to do is lie on are back, or on all fours, feed you, and bring you a drink when you want it. Now your complaining that you have no worth? You are so confused.

Me are supposed to be willing to die in order to protect their families and their nation. It is not a woman's duty to fight and die. This viewpoint started back when men were men and women were women. the lines have since blurred.
