The fan on my compaq is'nt working.?

Which fan, most computers have more than one. If it is the one on the power supply, get a new power supply. If it is the actual CPU heatsink fan, don't turn on the computer becasue the CPU will fry, if it is one of the other ones check the power connection.

The fan only comes on when the puter gets to hot!

Go to Radio shack and get a new one...
