That depends on your definition of the speed of light; this actually varies depending on what matter the light is travelling through. So seeing as certain matter can affect the speed of light dramatically then until someone comes up with a definitive answer about what, if any, matter makes up the vacuum of space, and is then able to remove this to create a true vacuum through which to pass some light in order to measure its speed, then in reality it may not actually be known for sure what the actual speed of light is in order to find out if there is anything faster... or something similar....

Yes, the universe during the "Inflationary" period expanded faster than the speed of light. Subatomic particles called tachyons are supposed to travel faster than light but most physicists no longer believe they exist and so far there has been no experimental evidence of their existence. Also, the universe is now accelerating in its rate of expansion and may again exceed the speed of light. No material body or signal can travel faster than light but apparently that speed limit does not apply to space itself.

Seriously, no.

As you approach the speed of light, certain changes occur.

1) Your mass will increase
2) Time for you in relation to others will alter; Time for you would slow down.
3) From outside, you would appear to be getting thinner
4) Your hat would blow off

Therefore, as you reach 300,000 km/s, in Theory you would be so heavy, you could not move, you would me so thin, you could not be seen, and time would stop.

Relative Mechanics is a bit of a tricky subject, so best to just accept it and move on.

shadows

hold your hand close to the wall where it will cast a shadow. move your finger back and forth, and your shadow will move faster than your finger. the closer your finger is to the wall, the faster your shadow will move.
