If he really didn't drink for 6 months then, he is probably going through something and it is no big deal. However, if he has been lying about not drinking...or not drinking as much, then to go out drinking the night after getting whooped is not so bright and might point to a larger problem with booze.

This sounds like a situation that is only going to get worse....why does he get so drunk?? Going to the bar for a drink or 2 is one thing, but getting drunk and beat up and then wanting to do it all over again is the sign of someone who is not thinking clearly and certainly not giving any consideration to you.
I'd look at a better candidate for a boy friend.

From my actual experience, I know that something is wrong. He is either not happy living with you, or he is begging for your attention and will not just come out and say it. He drinks to help him temperary solve his problem but it won't last because you will get hurt yourself if you stay with him, and let him do this to himself. I suggest you sit down and have a heart to heart talk about both of your goals in life. Is it drink until you die? Or will it be something like buy a house, buy a new car, have kids, and go on vactions as a family. You have to have goals in life or your relationship is doomed!

he has issues and problems,it might be a tough, long road .if you are alone do what you feel but if children are involved this is very different. drinking has no place with fighting around the kids , no drama perioid.kids need protection and if you are a mom make the easy choice,them...!think about it............!how far does it have to go....???? is he capabable of the task at hand??

It's his choice. But if it bothers you enough you might want to consider a different boyfriend.
