at the dinner table!!! the family does NOT need to smell foul air while eating. i also tell my children if you feel it in the kitchen run or mom's gonna chase you. not while i or anyone is cooking or eating in the kitchen is it allowed. now if it slips i can understand other than that GET OUT!

Anywhere around other people. If your body gives you warning that you are about to fart, leave the room.
