are gays really born gay? or do you think its just a choice and that they convince themselves that they are?

Read my profile. Men become gay because of a lack of knowledge concerning what it means to be a decent man. They have a hole in thier hearts, they look for that "Father Figure" in other men. It becomes an addiction to them. Thier Fathers failed in leading them into manhood, so they seek this security in other men through sex. What self destructive behavior can be attributed to being born that way? Rapists, molesters, murderers? No one is born that way.

The current belief is that they are born that way. I don't really see where it matters much -- other than as an intellectual exercize.
But that does bring up other questions.
Liza Minelli, her mother and her grandmother all married gay men. Is that genetic or environmental?
If people are born gay -- is it genetic? Is it caused by some hormonal state during gestation? The acceptance of gay culture means that fewer gays will marry (someone of the opposite sex) and have children. If fewer gays reproduce, does this mean there will be a lower of percentage of gays in the future? Lots of interesting questions here.

I teach martial arts to kids. 2 of my students are very gay. they are 11 and 12 years old. The parents are each very much in the know, even if the kids are not. The younger one crossdresses, and critiques women's outfits. the older is a drama queen. These kids are great kids, they just are, or at least will be, gay. I just hope when the time comes, they can start dating, co-habbing, and marrying the people they should, the ones that make them happy, and not who makes others happy.

I would guess so.
I mean I never choice to be straight. Never in my life did I have to think do I like women or men. So I can believe that gays are born gay and didn't choice to be attracted to who they are.

gays have been around for as long as humans have lived on earth.. but they keep it secret !!! until now!! and yet they still get bashed with remarks , ppl looking down on them.. Now would that be a life you would chose? I wouldn't!!
Yes they are born with it.. everyone has male and female hormones in our body's gays have more female hormones witch causes them to feel more feminine. its not something they can help. if they could I'm sure they would like to be normal as everyone else is!!! if you are a straight female would you like to share your life and your bed with another woman just so that society wouldn't frown on you and to be excepted?? I know I wouldn't .. So now that its ok now in this time to be gay , and most ppl except it , can't we all just let them live life and be happy, everyone deserves a chance at happiness

I think they are born that way, but they have a choices as to whether they will act on those feelings. The same applies to the other recognized sexual orientations established at birth, including the attraction to children. This last one was decided to be any orientatin in the same manner as Homosexuality was decided, in a vote by the American Psychological Assc. at one of their conferences.

Homosexuals are born that way straights are born that way and bisexuals are born that way. Why would anyone choose this?
