there is a lock button on the top that slides across to lock/unlock the buttons

1. Make sure the hold button at the top is not on
2. Make sure it is charged. Plug it into computer.
3. Hook it up to the computer sometimes this works.
4. If all fails, contact apple help and suport.

There's an orange switch at the top, if that doesn't work, give it a good whack!

flip the switch on the top of your ipod from orange(not sure) to white
