They may seem like quiet and gentle animals but if you try to touch one or grab at it, it gets pretty agressive and they have this weird growl.

Try to pet one. Yes they do. They are like any animal, if they feel threatened they will use a method of defense which often is sharp teeth. Wild Koala's tend to like to be left alone by humans & will bite & scratch. So I don't think it's a great idea to try & pet one.

They bite quite well and can give nasty scratches. They look very charming and docile, but it is a fiendish ploy to draw you closer. They do become tame rather quickly after they learn that there is no danger.
