MikeInRI and Yaakov are both correct. The most recent evidence shows that the first Americans crossed a land bridge where the Bering Straits are now located.

However, I think that the profs of the English Language at the University of Rhode Island need to "tighten up" a bit on their students' redundancies.

The Asians are the only one's saying that - gosh I know I have been saying that to my students for a least 12 years to my students and I was told that from my professors at URI before that - most of them are caucasian just like me. If that's true why did it take Asians so long to get on aboard - freaking crazy if you ask me.

While they can no longer really be called Asians, Native Americans are genetically closer to the Mongols and Siberian peoples than to any other so-called "race." -yk
