except for one thing, taking steroids or other performance enhancing drugs wasnt cheating before the 2004 season

it was legal, frowned upon, but legal

everyone was able to do it, just certain players did, others didnt, dont blame the ones who did, or call them a cheater, just because they decided to go the extra mile to better themselves.

also, if you cant hit the ball, steroids arent going to help you anyways, so there still is a large amount of talent needed to even have teh steroids or HGH or anything else come into effect

Ah, the typical Bonds defense! Trying to deflect attention to others to take it off Barry.

First of all it's Pettitte, and even the prosecutor said the names were included in error, and that Grimsley actually said "Clemens and Pettitte wouldn't do steroides in a million years".

Nice try, but Barry should still be singled out, considering he's on the verge of breaking the most hallowed record in sports. Look at his stats, see how they improved at age 37. Look at Clemens' see how they went downhill until he got to Houston. He is still dominant because he plays in a league where pitchers hit. He no longer throws 96, but 91-92. As for Pettitte, it's ridiculous.

You have to face the fact: People outside of the Bay Area hate Barry Bonds, and want him to fail, as do I. He has made a mockery of the record book by using illegal substances.

Bonds has undergone changes in his body that we all can see. No one at 34 suddenly becomes that much bigger. Clemens did have a late career bump in performance, but neither he nor Petitte looks different from how they have always looked.

at this point, there isn't much difference besides the fact that Bonds allegations seemed more believable considering what he has done during the past couple of years. his power and changes made him a more easy victim i guess. but clemens and petite were sort of behind all that, so its sort of shocking i guess.

There really isn't any difference. It's my opinion that if they further investigate and possibly prosecute Bonds than they need to do the same to the rest. I really believe MLB needs to investigate this whole thing on steriods. If the players were taking performance drugs, than they should be held at the same level as Pete Rose is. Cheating is cheating, it doesn't matter how you look at it.
