I think you will be hard pressed to find a woman who is truly satisfied with her body. Our culture has sure done a number on girls and women. From the time a young girl hears her mom call her womanly body "fat" or hears grandma say she needs to "go on a diet," she learns that one of the jobs of a woman is to remain vigilant against fat. The majority of our culture sees fat as unattractive. So, as the girl continues to grow, seeing the images of women in the media on TV or in magazines, she will be taught that there is an ideal. She may begin to measure how she compares with the ideal. Maybe she'll think that her breasts are too small or too big, her nose is crooked or big, or that her teeth are spaced too far apart? Even if she is beautiful, she will likely still have a few of these thoughts.

It may be especially hard for some girls to lose their thin child body, and develop a womanly body with curves. Some see curves as fat. Look at many of the fashion magazines. I read once that the models are supposed to be "clothes hangars." The reason they are encouraged to be so thin is because that's how the clothes hang best. The problem with that is that impressionable girls look to those fashion models as role models. The body image they portray is unhealthy and unrealistic. (Kate Moss, queen of the "waif" look, gets caught doing cocaine and she's rewarded with an even bigger paycheck--another bad message.)

Personally, I think curves look best. I think our nation's obsession with fake breasts is a bit ridiculous though, so I'd say "natural" curves are best.

Curvy! I wish I was!! Some people (girls) don't know when they're well off! Having said that I wouldn't actually change the way I am - that's what makes me..well...ME! Skinny and happy! It's surprising though how many people say to me "I'd give anything to have a figure like yours!" Well then, lay off the chips and get a bit of exercise! My problem is that I only like low calorie foods like salads and fruit. Most of the time I'm underweight and trying to get some weight on...it's frustrating in a world where we are constantly bombarded with adverts suggesting we are overweight. Personally I like a person to look 'normal', neither stick thin nor overweight and I think big boobs just look strange, but that's probably because I haven't got any worth mentioning! To answer your question, I am happy with my 'curves' (or lack of them) as you put it. The thing that looks most attractive on a woman is a healthy fit male!

Well personally I am a curvy girl and I like it just fine. Society really reinforces the idea that curves are bad (this makes a lot of women develop a horrible body image). I am not sure why... I guess this is a more modern trend though. Marilyn Monroe and Rita Hayworth were bigger than most women today think is acceptable. If we look at art throughout history we know that women's curvaceous bodies were celebrated. Trying to be so thin and straightgetting rid of hips, bottoms, and breasts, is like removing feminity, and what makes a woman's body a woman's instead of a man's.

Both, if you are naturally skinny then thats fine if your'e more voluptous (spelt that wrong, soz) then thats fine as well. I'm naturally very thin and am fed up with people assuming all slim women are anorexic, I wish I was curvier but its always the way, no matter what you look like there is always going to be something you don't like about your looks. Personality is far more important, many bigger ladies think being slimmer will sort out all their probelms but it won't, people are always going to find some fault with you, appearance wize, no matter what size you are, you can't win. We are all unique thats what we should find interesting but it seems that in todays society we have become obsessed with having the "perfect" body, whatever that is. I blame most of it on the media, as long as your relatively healthy, thats all that should matter, skinny or curvy it makes no difference!

I'm a woman but I must say that there is definitely a difference between curvy and fat. A lot of overweight women claim that they're curvy when they are actually just fat. (not to sound harsh LOL)
An example of a curvy body would be beyonce knowles or jennifer lopez. I definitely think that curvy women are so much more sexy than skinny women. This anorexic look in Hollywood has got to go! Nicole Ritchie was so cute before she lost all that weight. Now she looks terrible.
Just my thoughts

I think curvy is generally healthier, and the BMI scale allows a woman at any height to retain her feminine curves and still be a healthy person. Two years ago I lost 50 pounds through weight watchers and was down to 110 pounds at 5'2", and I thought I looked terrible and way too skinny. Now I'm 125 pounds and have feminine curves but maintain a healthy lifestyle.

a woman is never satisfied with her body skinny or curvy, i have been both. iv had 3 children balloned to a size 18 after my 2nd, then slimmed down to a 10 then went upto a 14 with my 3rd now im an 8 with a waist of 24 my pre pregnant size am i happy? no? everyone says i should be because im slim but if slim is supposed to be the best would it compensate for my horrible saggy tum and flat chest i think not. i think once a woman has found a man whom she can truly believe him when he says shes beautiful and proves it goes a long way for a womans belief in herself.

Some women are reading far too many magazines that are showing stick insects and they think that's how they should be, curves are what makes a women look like a women, sexy and feminine, unfortunately most of them think looking like a stick insect is better, sorry but how can any women with no shape to her body because of been so thin look feminine let alone sexy.

It depends on the person. Some women look good when they are a bit curvy and some don't. And then there are some women who look good when they're skinny. As long as you don't look ill, it doesn't matter when you're a bit curvier or skinnier than avegrage.

I like curves on a fit girl, not the beanpole look in high fashion. I don't mean fat either. Here are some of my lovers' sizes:
Miyuki- 5'-0.5", 97 lbs., 33"/22"/32";
Kumiko- 5'-2", 102 lbs., 34"/22.5"/32.5";
Megumi- 5'-10", 122 lbs., 33"/23.5"/35";
Bi-Chen- 5'-3", 125 lbs., 38"/22"/35"!
They all do some type of exercise and watch their diets. Miyuki practices ballet, for instance.
