Intel Core 2 Duo for the processor, get an ASUS motherboard. The Intel 965 chipset is the best, get the nVidia chipset if you want SLI.

I would recommend Gigabyte, MSI or ASUS motherboard... with chipset of Nforce... processor of choice would be currently Intel core2duo it is currently the best processor to date.... i think in november or december Intel would release the Quad core processors and AMD would release its 4x4 processor... but if you would buy now you should choose Intel Core2duo...
