Take acting classes. Improvisation classes are also fun and very helpful. Get involved in community theatre and school productions. Also, look for theatre camps in your area this summer.

First pre-requiste, learn how to wait tables

Second pre-requiste, learn how to call people at dinner time and try and sell them junk they don't want without them hanging up on you

Third pre-requiste learn to live on $10K a year in income

Now, go find a theater group and learn how to do props, sell tickets, show people to their seats and work your way up

Go to NY or LA and get extra work for $40 a night

Get SAG elibable and make the rounds at the studio auditions for anything.

Get a SAG card and make no money for two years after you pay the $1,800 cash initiation fee in one payment.

LEarn how to work 100 hours a week for $100 in salary as part of a small theater

Learn how to work 100 hours a week trying to get parts that net you one job at month making $500

Land yourself into a Network TV show making $5,000 an episode for 5 years on a show that lasts 12 years and get a lawyer after year 3 to sue and get you up to $250,000 an episode, then extend your contract, buy some business interests like a McDonad's Franchise or two and an Arby's or two and get yourself a nice piece of land with a house in Malibu and then retire after the show ends, do nothing for 10 years and then get someone to make your a Guest Star for $100,000 when the money starts getting low.

Take your celebrity status and do commercials for Smith Barney for 5 years.

Pay someone to make sure that the press hounds you to death and never forgets your name.

If offered it, make a CD, you may need a career to fall back on. It sure did Shatner a lot of good with the STern show between his jobs.

Don't leave TV for the big screen until you've made at least $5 mil off TV so you have something to hold you over in case, like some many TV stars who think they are bigger than they actually are, you get no work for 4 years after your first flop. Then if someone says something like CSI Miami, you say $2 million and it's a deal.

That's how everyone else does it!
