Is it really healthier to eat carrots grown in animal poo than in nitrogen-enriched fertilizer, especially when E. coli is so rampant nowadays?

My Grandmother has been eating foods grown in pesticides since 1921. So has everybody else in history, yet since everything's been ORGANIC, we have MORE cancer, autism, etc.

You can wash off most pesticides, too. And we DO know what effect pesticides have on us, because they have been around hundreds of years.

It's really more an issue of chemicals with unknown long-term effects being used on non-organic. With the spinach scare recently, that WASN'T organic, it was caused by factory farms and processing facilities. Those chemicals go into the aquifer and gets into your drinking water. Several of the chemicals commercial farms use are known carcinogens.

Plus a lot of people hate factory farms because they deplete the soil of minerals without replacing them, and do a contribute to a number of social anxieties. More organic farmers should pay attention to this.

Animal manure for fertilizer has to be processed to kill a number of bacteria, especially the dangerous forms of e coli, regardless of whether it is organic or commercial applications.

I will not buy organic produce because it is so expensive compared to regular produce! I figure the produce that I buy has been good enough all of these years, why should I switch?
