i tore my rotator cuff before, its a pain. listen to the doc- give it time to start with and your doc will probably refer you to a sports therapists that will try to rehabilitate first by using certain excersises and an ultra sound on the shoulder. if this doesn't work over a period of time and it's still painful, then they will probably recommend surgerory.
but, like i said, this is what I went through- listen to your doc.

Get her arm into a snug sling and to an orthopedist. It take quite a while to heal, in some cases the rotator cuff has to be repaired surgically. It just depends on the severity of the damage.

Asparcreme will help the pain and taking aspirin, Ice packs will probably help also.

I had a small tear in my right rotator cuff when I was younger. It depends on what the damage is. If it does not need surgery, it will take months to heal. Whatever you do, do not push it. If it needs surgery, it may heal sooner.

These are not fun. I wish you the best.

Rotator cuff injuries are a nuisance. They take forever to heal if anything is torn and possibly need surgery. If you doctor said to give it a week then hopefully she just pulled it a bit. Be patient and follow the doctor's orders.

It all depends on the exact injury. Sometimes they will heal on their own, sometimes therapy is needed and if its bad enough surgery is needed.

What is it, exactly, that you want to hear? You've seen the doctor, the doctor has advised, so LISTEN to you doctor and do what your doctor advises you to do.

It's not hard.

This question is under "current events" because WHY?

DON"T operate. From my experience, keep her from moving her arm until it heals and that will take more than a week.
