Don't go to the big names, go to a small builder, someone who has references ask around your neighbours,family,friends. Make sure you don't pay a deposit, good builders don't ask for a deposit.

Get at least 3 separate quotes but beware of 'hard sell' merchants. If you know of anyone in the same road / locality who has had double glazing recently, ask them who they used and whether they would recommend the firm.

Although price is important, there are other factors, eg quality of workmanship and respect for your property.

At least twice as much as you'd expect, especially if you went with Anglia! The insulation benefits are minimal! It would have been better for us to have had good quality single glazing.
