Heavy lead lined cloths are your only option.
I would move out of the nuclear testing range if I were you...even if you protect your furniture from the thermites you could still end up being exposed to thermites yourself and mutating into some sort of Atomic Super Man.

lol, whats funny is that "Thermite" is actually a chemical reaction that burns through steel in milliseconds. I dont know very many couches that can stand up to that besides titanium. but for "Termites", i would reccomend the stuff at the grocery store that you spray around the baseboards of you walls.
