I have recently been in contact again with the man I first fell in love with, over 9 years ago. We have begun talking, and on my end, there have always been some very person and unresolved issues here.
I have been married for 6 years, with my husband for almost 8. However, I have always had a place in my heart for this other man.
Is it normal to still have feelings for someone after all this time? I am not in love with him, but I can remember some things like it was yesterday, and I do find that I am uncomfortable talking to him in any intimate (not sexual, but close) or personal manner.

I have been open with my husband and because of the unresolved issues with my old love, he has encouraged me to talk to him.
I love my husband and have NO INTENT of breaking my vows or loving him less.

the same thing happend with me... i think it's fine as long as there aren't real strong feelings for this other man. keep it light. i use email to keep in touch. an occasional call every couple of months. it's someone you were in love with......... of course you will always have feelings , it's normal.

One's first love will always be special. Most times, we may never again see or hear from them, but they are a warm spot in our hearts.
So we cling to the memories of the passionate and euphoric feelings we felt then and sometimes hold that first love as the standard to which we compare every subsequent relationship.
Though it's possible to maintain a platonic relationship with a former love, it may be best for you to inform your husband of this. Because things might not really be the same as you recall. And you don't want to risk the love and trust of your husband for what may be only that: a memory.
