who is your favorite minor hp character and why? mine is theodore nott because he's a loner.

I liked Lee Jordan - his Quidditch commentaries were the main reason I loved the Quidditch games in the books. Plus he was friends with the Weasley twins, who TOTALLY ROCK!

Dobby the house elf is my favorite minor character in the Harry Potter series because he is funny, brave and loyal. I also admire his stubborn persistence in wanting to be paid for working, as a *proudly* freed house elf, even though he knows almost everyone thinks that he is strange for his beliefs. He is an eternal optimist and an independent thinker despite all the pressure to conform.
I laughed so many times over things he said or did, such as his affinity for gaudy and mismatched socks and his fight with Kreacher - to stop him from saying bad things about Harry. He also risked his own health and safety to help Harry (the Malfoy's would've hurt or possibly killed him for warning Harry about the Chamber, we don't know what Snape would've done if he caught him stealing the gillyweed but I'd bet it would've been vicious, Umbridge definitely would've punished him for tipping off Harry that she knew about Dumbledore's Army.)

neville longbottom because he's the underdog that tries over and over again without giving up. he would do anything to help his friends. and he was thisclose to being "the chosen one"
i guess he's a major and minor character.

I have to go with Neville also. I feel so sorry for him, and he was almost the chosen one. He just makes me want to hug him!
