it's 3 D... just bc its not flat... u don't need examples... anything not flat is 3d

Relief is classified under sculpture, and sculpture deals with the 3 dimensions. Its relative flatness though sometimes makes us doubt whether its really 3d. Notice how painters try to simulate shadows by painting them because the flat images or figures do not cast shadows like 3d/sculptures do.

it is not completely flat, like a painting, so it is 3 dimensional.
however the third dimension (depth) is really a visual perspective created by carving the material. But it remains a carving, a sculpture, and therefore it is 3 dimensional
