The mineral that bones and teeth are made of is technically called apatite. It is #5 on the Mohs scale of hardness (a little softer than steel) and the formula is Ca5(PO4)3(F,Cl,OH)
The last three elements in the parentheses indicate that there are three versions of this mineral that are considered apatite, one that has an OH radical on the end, one that has a chlorine, and one that has a fluorine. The verson with flourine is supposed to be a little harder and more resistant to weak acids, which is why fluorine toothpaste is used, to substitute fluorine for some of the chlorine or OH as teeth decay.
There are also organic components of bone, but apatite is the mineral component, and the one that conains the calcium. As you can see from the formula, it is the largest component of the mineral (it comes first when the formula is written.)
