I was thinking of this name for my child, but I'm worried that its so unusual that other kids could come up with ways to bug her. What things do you think you could come up with that she would have to defend herself against in the playground?

valentina is a very nice name. it has a nice ring to it. don't worry about the other kids. names now are so different and unusual especially with all the different cultures. i think the kids are used to it now.

It depends on your ethnic background. If you are Latino, Italian, or Hispanic, it's a great name. Otherwise, it's not too "cool"... As far as your 2nd question, kids come up with all sorts of names! I can think of so many names, Valentine, Lover, Heart, and many others that aren't really that cruel but would upset her.

It's not that bad. Val for short is nice... don't go with Tina, it's trashy.
If your kid is a dork, they'll find anyway to make fun of her no matter what the name... this name isn't so bad (like Gretchen or Eugenia) that it's an obvious target for teasing.

My mom's name is Valentina and I chose that name to be a part of my daughter's middle name. Isabell Valentina.

Name your kid what you want who cares what other people think, there are plenty of stupid names out there and that name sounds pretty and interesting to me.

Hey I love that name actually one of my friend is named that name and she never gets mocked about it. name her what you think is the best I know she will stand up her best if she gets mocked or hurt bout her name...................=)
