Are you sure the question was about limestone or the dried version(quicklime)? Quicklime gets hot when water is added.

I've no idea about Limestone BUT I tried to email you re: a previous question about Ice Hockey and it didn't work, the email didn't go through for some reason. So if you don't mind me answering the wrong question, my dad said you can sometimes find NHL games on Channel 5. (UK terrestrial channel), but other than that you'll have to subscribe.

Nothing much, the limestone will eventually dissolve if the water is changing and if it isn't then any process will come to a halt when the water has dissolved as much as it can.
