If you somehow became financially stable and could help other people, how would you do that? How would you find the truely needy?

The needy are not necessarily those lacking basic necessities. By just giving them the basic necessities, you are not really helping them.
Sometimes the needy are perceived as moderately comfortable, yet lack they financial boost to become truly great.
I believe it is better to foster an environment which fosters excellence, instead of one that justifies mediocrity.

i've often though about placing an add for people to apply for the gift. Like I had this idea to go and buy another house and get every to write in why they deserve no rents for a year. Then the person who i feel needs it the most I'm going to give them a place to stay.
If you want to donate money to people that need it though there are a ton of charities out there. These organizations know exactly how to put this money in to good use. Pick something that you would like to be a part of not only donate $ but donate your time too.

Charity begins at home help the people in your family first. You can give to a charity that has a cause you feel passionate about or start a foundatoin to support a cause. What you think is truly needy is a matter for your heart and mind.

It's really hard to find legit people who truely needy. If you really want to help just donate some of you money and time to local churches, food banks or soup kitchens. There, you can really see people lined up for food. Do not give help online or phone (no face, no expression).

I'm not rich, by any means. But my husband and I support 2 African children through Plan USA. We support the local food pantry and Rescue Mission, as well as the Red Cross, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society and Hospice, and Pro-life groups. There will always be people needier than we are. We give what we can.

i would set up a program and advertise it locally
with non profits and churches, and word of mouth
i would give rent assistance, food assistance, i would have a clothes closet ,utility assistance and toys and games for kids......
