These beeps indicate that the system could not start. The beeps can be used to tell what is wrong, if you have the beep codes for the motherboard. Graphics adapters that can not initialize properly can cause this issue.

There's 2 different things that cause my computer to beep! 1 is if I put the mouse in the
wrong socket and same for the keyboard. This is the most common mistake and it's good when the computer beeps cause it's telling you that they are in the wrong order. The other is
a scanner beeps when it is running. Mine beeps.
You probably do have the connectors wrong.
Also try another monitor.. you can get a cheap one at most any thrift store, pawn shop.
If these don't solve your problem ask: John Kunze of Far More Computing.. He'll be able to
answer your questions.. he may charge you a little for it though! his email Jkunze@telus.net
just say Danial referred you to him! He is a very busy person. He does the computer repair work for Handicap and also many Health Organizations!

......I wonder why they gave it to you......
How old is it? Ask them if it did the same thing for them. It very well may be your video card not sending the video signal to your monitor.
