The key will be to be able to offer a BIG habitat. If they are crowded or stressed, or have to fight for food or good spaces, then they will all suffer.

Aim for a MINIMUM of 10 gallons of water space per inch total of turtles. I'd guess you are at about 6 to 9" worth of turtles, so you should be running a 60-90 gallon pond, which means about a 100 gallon tank if you are using a glass tank. (Most of us use plastic tubs and kiddie pools for this size.)

You'll want to make sure there are multiples of everything- feeding sites, cool spots, basking sites, etc. You'll also want to make sure each turtle gets its fair share of food- otherwise the smallest turtles can suffer.

Yes, I have two turtles, one painted and one red ear slider! They are both babies, but they get along great and even lay on top of each other! The only thing I have noticed is the painted turtle is a little more aggresive towards the food, but that is it! Good luck!

They should get along fine. The only way you will know is to put them together. If they don't get along then take the red eared slider out before any harm has come to him,

Unless you have a large pond, I highly recommend NOT housing turtles together. They may be OK now, but as they get older they most likey WILL fight. They can really hurt each other, even kill each other, fighting. Start saving for tanks for each turtle now, or start planning a big pond for your yard.

Yes, if they are the same size and you have a BIG environment for them, but do so with caution. Confined together they may bite each other.
