It's possible, just not recommended. I'm assuming your laptop does indeed have S-video or component output to the tv. If so, you can go into your Display Settings and under the "Settings" tab there is options for extending the windows desktop onto your second monitor (in this case it's your tv). This effective makes your windows desktop twice as wide, half showing on your laptop screen, and the other half on your tv. You can then move the Windows Media Player (or another DVD player) over to the extending screen. When you make the program go into fullscreen mode, it should only appear on your tv, and you are free to continue to use your real desktop for whatever you wish.

Some programs, however, may not work correctly while your screen is like this.

I heard about some thing like that. yet i imagine the living house had exits. and not in any respect only staircases that once to nowhere yet doors that did not open or did not lead the position you theory they'd. Even one door on both or 3 tale that became a drop off too the backyard. i imagine it became on a television teach yet i do not undergo in recommendations better than that. possibly in case you googled haunted homes with some others information you may want to locate it. Sorry i'm no longer a lot help

Yes.

You would need two video cards, one with TV OUT so you can plug from your TV to your video card, then set the other video card as your primary monitor and use it as a computer screen to work on while the other video card is playing the movie on your TV.

It's pretty much the same thing as running dual monitors with one video card for each monitor but the one playing the DVD HAS to have TV OUT feature.
