Reason for a divorce no longer matters. Once you have filed, the other spouse is served usually within 72 hours, then depending on how backed up the courts are youll get a date in divorce court. The judge will render his decision and usually takes 30 days to register in the public records division and then your divorce is deemed final. So the answer to your question is it all depends on how backed up the courts are.

it really depends on where you are and what the state rules and laws are. in the state of california if you file for divorce and there is no problems from your spouse 'response' to the divorce papersthen it can be as short as 6 months sometimes longer.
