I was at a concert last night with my husband. We wound up sitting next to this idiot girl who kept staring at us for unknown reasons, kept flipping out her cell phone talking loudly into it while the concert was going on. During the quieter, acoustic numbers she again took out the cell phone and starting talking loudly into it, and our ears... at that point it was impossible to ignore her and concentrate on the music, so I told her bluntly that if she didn't want to be here and her phone call was so important she should leave the area, because I paid good money and wanted to hear Eric Clapton not her talking on her cell phone. My husband backed me up on this...She made some reply and I told her if she didn't put the phone away and stop yelling into it I was going to get security...(what I really wanted to do was punch her in the face) anyhew, after another comment she did put the phone away but continue to stare at us. any suggestions on how we could have handled it , avoided it?

You did the best thing. Most people won't confront such rude people. My personal favorite are disrespectful teens. They use foul and abusive language and think they can get away with whatever they want (because no one ever does anything about it).
You did, be proud.

I don't think there is anyway to avoid it and confronting the issue was the best thing to do. Next step would get an attendant to move you. You have every right to demand from management insurance of a good time.

I think you handled the situation very well.. I myself prob would've slapped her and gotten myself kicked out. I remember going to a concert at a small establishment when I was around 20... I went with my friend because we knew the band and went to several of their shows, traveling with them in the bus. Anyways, at one of the concerts, I was wearing a short (but still covered me) black dress. During one of the songs, a guy had the nerve to try to grab my *** while he was standing behind me. I turned around to say something, but couldn't figure out who it was. So, I stood with my hands behind my back and waited... Naturally, the jerk tried it again. This time, I felt for the arm and followed it to the person... and grabbed him where it REALLY hurt. I heard him yelp with pain... then turned around and smiled.

Sounds like you did the right thing. You could also try working in tandem with your husband, for example, both of you get this excited hungry look in your eyes, you pull out some lotion from you bag and have your husband tell her "it puts the lotion on its skin..."

I think you handled it properly. The problem is that these people are completely inconsiderate, the only way to get through to them is to be blunt.

you should have sparked up a friendlier conversation before it got ugly. like..."i have been waiting for this concert for months" politeness goes a lot further than rudeness. i suggest learning to identify a potetial bad sitution and dealing with it beforehand

considering it was an eric clapton concert i think it would be acceptable to light up a joint and hold a peace conference with her.

i became inquisitive about those solutions, being extremely of an emotional guy. i'm getting teary eyed at the same time as the scene is carried out proper; lifelike and known to some thing I understand or experienced. i'm extremely disillusioned in maximum the solutions from the females. in spite of everything the worry they have had with equality, adult adult males no longer being smooth adequate, or undrstanding them, the hypocrisy is all yet yet again on complete power from a number of you. "Awkward" because you could also be crying? WTF? which skill he receives it moron! "shouldn't waste tears on human beings paid to make you emotional"? probable the stupidest answer yet. Are you difficult "emotional" with "weak point" as the variety of tremendous number of human beings have earlier? i'd cry over a movie yet I gaurantee i will also beat the crap out of maximum human beings. you're meant to get emotional!! adult adult males shouldn't stereotype females right into a function, and females shouldn't do an same to adult adult males. in the adventure that they cry, probability is you got here across a good guy.
