Do you give respect or do people around you have to earn it?

Hi, Simplystunning,
I think that "respect", should be given to "everyone" equally and until a person dis-proves the respect I give them, they should be respected...

Think of it this way.. "each" of us is, a living "human being"... we deserve a certain amount of respect for just that... when we treat others like we are better, then them or our ideas are more valid than theirs then therein lies the problem... "lack" of given respect... the feeling that others have to "earn" it ...

If each of us, treated the other person we come across.. like we would treat our most valued gramma or most respected figure, there would be "less" confrontation from each of us !

Respect works both ways, if you respect yourself and what you stand for people around you will respect you. Is always good to be the bigger person and give respect before receiving it.

A general respect to begin with(you can expect it, if you don't give it), but to continue, they will have to earn it by reciprocating.

u cant simpley just give out respect,its earned. i respect all my friends because they have earned the right to be respected by me and i by them.

Respect is a two way track. If you give respect, you get it back in return. Why would you repsect someone if they treated you like garbage?
