Depends where you live. In the UK there is no such thing as an automatic ban for speeding, but other factors such as careless driving, driving without due care and attention may well get added on to bump up the points. Collect enough of those (13) and bye bye licence. Course, you may not be in the UK, in which case other laws will apply. Best advice, get a good lawyer.

With the information you have given, it's impossible to answer. Some states have laws that will take a license on the spot if you are going over 100, are you in one of those states?

Was this on a surface street? Was this in a school zone? Or was this on the interstate with a speed limit of 70? It makes a difference. The only answer I can give you is "I don't know".

If he's a UK resident, because of the speed (I'm assuming he was speeding on a motorway or dual carriageway) he'll be summoned to a magistrates court to account for the offence. Unless he's got a celebrity lawyer, he'll almost certainly get a ban.

If it was on a road with a speed limit of less than 70 mph, he's in even more serious trouble.. Sorry.

get yourself some legal advice could be the difference between a fine and points or a ban. Unless your husband is a copper the court will try and make out he's worse than all the drink drivers and murderers!

Well I got clocked at 3am on a near empty motorway in the Lake district doing 110mph. I got called to court (wasnt allowed to do it by post) had to go to Carlisle from London! Got £200 fine and 6 points cos I said that I would lose my job if I lost my car. (true)

So, yes probably he will! I reckon the judge was having a good day!

That usually depends on your local laws. I know in Wisconsin it's not an instant ban unless you've gone over the point limit for your license.

I often drive at 100mph+ on the motorway and I have never been caught. I recon it is an instant ban. But I don,t care as I have not ever been caught.

Misdemeanor reckless driving and public nuisance. GET A LAWYER! Otherwise he is so screwed. You want to go over a hundred, go check out the local race tracks/clubs, as they have track days and cars for that purpose, and it costs a whole lot less than the ticket and a lawyer and the insurance and the taxi cab rides etc etc.

yea if caught going over 100 mph on the public roads it is an instant ban and the term of the ban would be up to cps (crown prosecution service)

No, no longer continuously. in case you're caught exceeding 100mph on the twin carriageway that's an instantaneous courtroom summons - the police can no longer cope with this on the roadside. that's then interior the hands of the courtroom as to what occurs. i replace into caught doing 104mph on the twin carriageway and alter into issued with 5 penalty factors and a £70 advantageous. it quite relies upon on your situations and the type you plead interior the courtroom. in case you desire you driving licence for artwork and danger dropping your job in case you're banned they'll take this under consideration.
