This is just something I have off & on wondered about. I never suggested that I would WANT one at home. I think that they seem disgusting. I just don't understand why since men are perfectly capable of using the regular toilet at home (although sometimes it takes a while for them to learn to put down the seat), restrooms in public places seem to feel that they need them.

(Just wanted to clarify)

Thanks to all who have given input. Just to further clarify, however, I guess that maybe I didn't phrase quite the question quite right. My question was geared not so much as to why we don't have them in the home, but rather, "Why do they have them at all? They seem so ugly, smelly and unneccessary to have in public men's-rooms, or anywhere. They just seem like such a strange fixture to have at all.

urinals in public restrooms for men are faster to use and requires less room than a toilet and is still private.urinals at home would be wasted space and expence.

Wouldn't that cause more urine to get spilled on our bathroom floor? I would think it would. I used to work at a gas station, and part of my duties was cleaning the rest rooms: OMG the amount of urine on the floors in the men's rooms were disgusting: I sure wouldn't want it at home, would you?

To put urinals into home bathrooms would take space and further cost making the bathroom itself far from cost effective.

Chow!!

I think it would be great to have one, but most bathrooms are too small, and the one fixture does work for both. I guess its a question of excess.

My wife wanted to put one in the boy's bathroom and I said no. They are there for quickness and ease of operation. Wouldn't want to look at one at home.

We sit sometimes too ladies!

It gives them more spaces to PP.

They don't need the privacy like women do.
