for customer service --- listen to the customer with your full attention
be accurate and truthful always
most customers know when a salesperson or
a customer service representative is trying to pull a fast one.
be pleasant not patronizing
if you smile mean it
be ready to go the extra mile for customers
sometimes though there is such a thing as doing too much.
know policy before offering different options to
problems or issues
look directly at the person your helping don't get
distracted by whats going on around you. You can only help one person
at a time as a general rule. Acknowledge anyone that walks up though and
let them know you will be right with them as soon as your done. Or get
someone else to help them within a few seconds if your not going to be available in a timely manner.
When in doubt about what to offer a customer
find out from someone senior or better still a manager in charge.
As you can see there are more than three that make a good customer
service representative.
Be genuine when dealing with the public no matter what position you have.
Good Luck

A possible extract for your CV:
I have the ability to understand and solve a customer's problems well. They will feel I know what the problem is and can help them with it quickly. I can also stay calm when there is a frustrated customer and keep them calm and content. Very importantly, I am also a very polite and naturally enthusiatic person; I will always deal with customers in a happy and pleasant manner under any circumstances and allow the customer to leave happy.
These qualities make me the ideal person for this job as I'm great with people and social situations as well as problem solving.
Hope this helps, I know what employers look for and that's pretty much what they'd look for in a customer service representative :-)

If You really want a potential employer to take you seriously, make sure you fill in the application form correctly, by that I mean correct spelling and grammar. If I received an application with spelling on it like you have here, I would just put it in the No Way file.

I would say most people appreciate patience, finding information or solutions to problems in a friendly thorough manner, and a good general knowledge of the product or services you represent very helpful.

Am not gonna offer you advice, because i dont really know. But what annoys me is when they try and guess what the problem is before you,ve finished speaking. So Understanding, Patient, Oh and dont be like really irritable if I dont actually know what the problem is. Good Luck Mate!!

Mostly you have to be a good listener. Let the person tell you what's wrong, what they need, etc before you try to tell them what you can offer.
Patience and politeness help, but should follow just naturally from the good listener thing.
