Because everybody is secretly very bored with life. Look at me, I'm on YahooQ&A right now, obviously have nothing better to do. When you see someone else yawn, you think "great! an invitation to express my disillusionment towards life. What a relief!".

The current favored theory is that yawns are a behavior held over from the days when humans were nomadic pack creatures. When one member of the group got tired, they would yawn. Then their pack-mates would pick up on the yawn, and "pass it along", until the pack leader got the signal that it was time to stop for the night.

Yawning comes evidently, even as there's a deficiency of oxygen. once you open your mouth, a huge component to oxygen is ate up which fills up ythe deficiency share. even as one individual yawns and also you're taking a seem at him even as he's yawning, the ophthalmic sensors on your eyes take in the stimulation as a lot as your mind which creates a man made oxygen debt, which finally ends up in yawning. i imagine this should be a suitable answer.
