I bought a beautiful lavender plant in full bloom from the supermarket; I repotted it because it was rootbound. Now it's dying. Or at least all the leaves are drying up and falling off. Any suggestions? or is it a hopeless case?

I have been watering it. I want to keep it as a houseplant. Do lavenders survive as houseplants?

You may have been sold the wrong cultivar.....Hidcote and Munstead are the tought ones that grow outside in full sun and warm weather.....easy to grow.....I don't know where you live or if it's too late to put in the garden, but i believe that is where it belongs......supermarkets sell everything nowadays....

Lavender plant life are sunlight loving and choose properly-drained soil. they are regularly planted pretty a lot any time, or perhaps began interior from seed. plant life would succumb to previous age after ten years yet are cost effectively replaced. complete warm sunlight is the first component contained in the recipe and it really is a plant that prospers contained in the most efficient portion of my backyard. fantastic drainage is yet another component contained in the recipe because any extreme wetness around the roots will convey about root rot. it really is hence that starting to be lavenders on clay isn't recommended. once you've clay soils, boost this plant in a container or in a raised mattress with sandy soils contained in the raised mattress.

Lavender does not like to be watered a lot. If the leaves are curling up, maybe its in shock. Or maybe they are getting burnt, are you watering in full sun?

If the leaves are drying up - it must be dry??? Or too hot????
Could you not plant it in the groud or perhaps a larger pot?
Scratch the stems (with your finger nail) to see if there is any green under the bark - if soo, it is alive. But if it is brown under the bark, cut back till you find green, as those ones are dead.
