what are the whitish pices that come from my troat and are very smelly when squezed between the fingers?

at the back of your throat/tonsils you have holes/pockets. food gets trapped there and over time it starts to rot - hence the smell. mouthwashes don't work cos the food is wedged in the hole and it only splashes past the surface. not to sound toooo disgusting i once put one of these lumps in a matchbox so i could show my doctor what i was talking about. by the time my appointment came around it had dried up and shrunk. it was smell free though. Doctor said it was just one of those thing and i had to live with it. it's a bit yucky though.

I use to get this also when i was young; I had a lot of problems with my throat and sinuses too, the Doctor always told me that these white hard chunks that I'd cough up were caused by infection in my throat and to gargle with warm salt water with just a hint of vinegar! I don't know what you have exactly, but I'm pretty sure that you don't have thrush as someone above commented. Thrush would be yeast covering your entire throat. It tends to occur in babies but can affect adults when a sinus infection or cold combine with a yeast infection. It's great fun; let me tell you. I don't think that you have that though. I believe your refering to the fur that usually smokers(non smokers too) get on their tongue that sticks in the throat and decays hence the smell.

Use mouthwash to kill the bacteria and kill the smell.
