For the last time you people: IT WAS NOT A WAR!!! IT WAS IN THE CIVIL WAR AND IT WAS CALLED THE BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG!!!!!!!!

OK...The Yankees won the Battle of Gettysburg which happened July 1st, 2nd, 3rd in 1863. The battle of Gettysburg was very close seeing as both sides lost nearly 25,000 people who were counted as killed, wounded, or captured. But after the famed Pickett's Charge, the Confederate (the South) lost more men, so the the Union (the North) won. The south then retreated on July 4th back to Richmond, Virginia.

There was no Gettysburg war. There was a battle during the Civil War and the Union won after a grave mistake on the part of the Confederate side. If you really can't do the research just rent the movie "Gettysburg".
