because it has all been done, almost every movie you go to these days you can sit through and know what is going to happen. And TV programs have gotten so much better that there is no need to go to the movies and spend $40 a person to be entertained, I would much rather set and watch the newest episode of Law And Order then go watch a new crime movie.

Real life is difficult enough to overcome these days. When I was a child movies entertained my mind with good, wholesome thoughts. Today it seems if foul language, nudity and sexual promiscuity are absent a movie doesn't make the budget. How sad! Families can not attend many movies together with their children.

sales have dropped simply because as soon as a movie is out of the theater (and sometimes before it is out of the theater), it can be downloaded to the computer which means people no longer rent or buy videos/DVDs. this is what makes the sales drop.

They don't wanna take chances on new, fresh ideas. Hollywood's basically become too conservative (which is opposite to their political slant, but that's not really for this topic). Same old crap gets tiresome after awhile. Especially when so frequently, the same old crap is the lowest common denominator garbage (In other words, stupid things).
