Your question is a bit confusing. Do you mean 2,2-hexane dicarboxylic acid or do you mean 2,?-hexanedicarboxylilic acid (the ? means a position other than 2)? There can be hydrogen bonding between the two groups (one H to the other sp2 oxygen) and even dehydration to form a cyclic anhydride if conditions are right (especially if the dehydration forms a 5 or 6 membered ring)
