There is continuous debate about abortion issues. What if we wrote an passed a law that charged a woman with murder if she used abortion as her method of birth control? Should women, of that nature, be protected from prosecution, even though they continue to murder?

Most people agree that abortion is bad, and that a woman who uses abortion as long-term bc is doing the wrong thing.

Your suggestion has good motivations, but there are practical issues with it that are hard to resolve.

For example, in order to implement a specific law, how do we specifically define "using abortion as a method of birth control?"

[The law cannot be vague. It must spell out the specific circumstances under which a woman will be charged with a count of abortion.]

How many abortions must a woman have, in a certain amount of time, for it to count towards her total -- the one that will suggest she is using abortion as bc?

How will they know her real motivations? Was she actually getting a particular abortion as a means of birth control? Or was she using bc but got pregnant out of sheer bad luck, or maybe the bf told her he was using birth control but the condom was faulty?

Or what if she is a jobless underage girl who is in no position to raise a family? Does it count towards her total then? What if her parents MAKE her get an abortion, because she's not yet an adult? How do we judge someone's motivations?

Continuing, how will the police know a woman has had an abortion -- must doctors now report abortions in a database? How many doctors will be offered money to keep record of the abortion out of the database? Will a black market develop for this sort of thing? How do we track this sort of stuff, so that people can be tried and prosecuted effectively?

Should men be punished? After all, the woman can't get pregnant by herself. Is it fair for a man to knock up a woman, then have no responsibility whatsoever legally, while the woman could be tried as a criminal depending on how she deals with her unwanted pregnancy? This sort of law places undue burden upon the woman for an act two people committed. Shouldn't the man be liable too?

(But how on earth would we prosecute a man for having sex with a woman?)

See what I mean? I agree with your premise -- that women should NOT be using abortion as a method of birth control.

One reason that they are not prosecuted for doing so, currently, is because of the many difficulties in creating and enforcing a realistic law.

Has anyone of these bigots ever tried to persuade a woman to abort they turn into a vicious protective beast. That's nature for you. The worst thing on earth is to make the descision to abort but sometimes it really is the best thing to do. No ons has the right to say no its my chojse weather a child is born. Who do you think you are. Its legal to abort, so who are you to decide against that, just what is your moral qualification to enable you decide the outcome of a fertilised egg within a woman womb. I suggest you are the one playing god not any woman found with this predicament.

abortions are inexpensive, state medical and all insurance plans cover it.
it is safer than the pill, IUD and all the chemical forms of birth control, and is a lot safer than carrying the baby to term.
for the woman, it is one of the safest methods of birth control.
so if they have no guilt about it, they will keep doing it....
because of the law, insurance companies cannot put a limit on the number of abortions a woman can have.

but my personal opinion..... women who have more than one abortion need to take more preventative measures... and abortion addicts are simply whores.

I don't think women should use abortion as birth control and I would bet 99% of them don't. Most women who get abortions probably got pregnant because their birth control didn't work. Weather you're for it or against it, it is better that it stay safe and legal.

Stupid. Abortions are expensive. They should not be illegal, but they should be used as a last resort, not as a method of birth control.

I would call her irresponsible. Unfortunately some women get pregnant very easily , and its hard to find the right birth control.. I don't your idea will fly though. If you ask me women should be on birth control if they are having sex even if it is protected.

She should be called the Queen of De-Nile.
I believe she is being very irresponsible, immature and ignorant.
However; I also believe in her right to choose.
