The "Big Bang" took place some 12 to 15 Billion years ago. The laws of physics like the universal constants and the others like the mass of the sub atomic particles were fixed in the first few seconds after the bang. Energy condences into matter as the plasma coagulated. Energy formed quanta. Particles like hadrons, neutrinos emerged as the plasma mass energy coagulated as the plasma cooled. Electrons, Protons and Neutrons were formed. Weak forces worked to create clusters of these particles. Some collided and fused. Energy was bound by the Strong forces. These caused the nucleii of the atom which consists of Protons and Neutrons to be bound into the nucleus. Electrons - lighter and smaller with mass of 1/1846 th of a Proton were attracted and orbited in fixed energy levels with bands called orbitals. Matter was so formed. Atoms attracted others to form molecules with shared electrons. And today we have all the heavier elements in complex compositions with others giving us the world as we see it. Energy static or potential or kinetic can now be harnessed.
That should be ok for one page - I hope - but that one page means that you should and I hope will - spend the next year unravelling the fascinating fabric of physics.
